Dr. Carol K. Yeung
As a native of Southern California, born and raised in Anaheim, Dr. Yeung realized early on that she never wanted to leave this beautiful state and wonderful weather. At the University of California, Los Angeles, she received both her undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Science and degree in Doctor of Dental Surgery. Her desire to work with children led her to a residency at the University of Southern California where she obtained her specialty certificate in Pediatric Dentistry and upon graduation, taught as an associate professor. Soon after, she was given the opportunity to teach as an attending in the dental division of the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles for a few years. This also gave her the ability to work closely with children who have special needs, such as children with cleft lip and/or palate, those who have undergone various cancer treatment, and many other patients that require more than conventional dental intervention. She had also became actively involved as a board member of the Pediatric Dentistry Alumni Association of the University of Southern California for a number of years and as a mentor for the residents in the USC pediatric dentistry program. Now as a Board-certified Pediatric dentist, her time is devoted primarily to private practice, where she can educate parents and their children on preventive and comprehensive pediatric dental care, and on the mentoring program. In order to stay current on the latest developments in pediatric dentistry, she has always exceeded the continuing education requirements of California.
As a diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a fellow of the American College of Pediatric Dentistry, she also belongs to a number of other professional organizations: American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, California Dental Association, American Dental Association, Orange County Dental Society, and the Pediatric Dentistry Alumni Association of the University of Southern California.
The things she enjoys the most are painting, cooking and spending time with her husband and partner, Dr. David M. Kang, and their daughter, and her beloved pets.
Dr. Sona Bekmezian
Dr. Sona Bekmezian is a Board-Certified Orthodontist by the American Board of Orthodontics and currently a Director on the Board of the California Association of Orthodontics.
She graduated summa cum laude from UCLA and completed her dental training and orthodontic residency at UCSF, where she was the recipient of the UC Regents Scholar Award and obtained a Master's in Oral and Craniofacial Sciences. She practiced orthodontics for many years in the Bay Area, served as clinical instructor at Children's Hospital Oakland, and started two orthodontic clinics across the Bay Area to provide orthodontic treatment to those in greatest need.
She has also published two articles on Clear Aligner Therapy in the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics.
For fun, Dr. Sona picked up beekeeping as a hobby during the pandemic. She sincerely loves eating vegetables (no joke) and she also enjoys making gluten-free baked goods.
Jennifer Lopez Seki
Office Manager
Jennifer was born and raised in Whittier, California and graduated from the Tri Cities Regional Occupation Program in Whittier. She is a certified registered dental assistant in the state of California and also the office manager and assistant at the Brea Pediatric Dental Practice. Jennifer will meet at the front desk and often times also be working with your child alongside the doctors. If you have any financial or insurance questions or any questions about your child’s treatment plan, she will be the one able to assist you.
Jennifer's hobbies include hiking, biking, playing volleyball, spending time with her husband, Ray and her 2 grandchildren.
